Right now I just can comment on the packaging and install. Very well packaged, directions were straight forward (maybe took 1hr to mount). Also appreciate the fact that the connections are all ready just to connect up.

If you want to wire an in-cab winch control it is fairly easy to do because of the external solenoid control pack.

Speaking of that.. I already have all the switches for an in-cab winch control, just need to set it up. Also was going to ask for feedback regarding wiring an in-cab winch control (is it worth it?)

It is SO worth it!!!!!!!!!!! I installed my switches right on the center console in easy reach and can't remember the last time I used the hand controller

Building the wiring harness is pretty straight forward since you said you've already got the switches. Wiring is probably a ~2 hour project (if you have all the parts) to determine the wiring, run the wires, connect everything, etc... but not really a hard one.

Parts you'll need:
1) Wire (prefer 1 color per pin on the remote controller), 18 gauge
2) Female spade connectors (10 or 12) for the connections to switches
3) Ring terminals (10 or 12) for connecting to the solenoids
4) Wire wrap / sheathing (optional)
5) Misc wire ties

I'd be happy to help you work out the wiring diagram... I don't know if I still have the one I created for my M8000. If not we can figure it out with an ohm meter in ~15 mins using a stock remote control.

We'll need to snake wires through the fire wall so we either find an existing opening or make a new one.

I put a winch switch in a small aluminum box right over the mirror using the screw holes for the hood tie down. I'd rather not have to look down at the switch when winching. I was cleaning up and found the extra box I ended up with. You can have it if you want to put the switch in the same spot. The box is just the right size for the job and comes with a silicone gasket so it's basically waterproof.

Well was able to use the M8000 SEVERAL times on the Fathers Day run. I can sum it up with the following statement from the wife "That winch was well spent money!". I think as I get into harder trails, I will find myself using the winch more often.

They are the best money spent. Not always in the right order. FjR68
