Any shot of a wrenchfest this weekend? 5/28 or 29?

Unread post by Hoodoo Man »

I know its going to be tough to put together a wrenchfest with GTD and final prep for a lot of folks for Rausch creek. If anyone thinks they can spend some time out in Westford I need to replace my blown rear locker as the heep is not drivable as is. I plan to drop an ARB RD117 in the rear as it is sized properly for the Rubicon thick gear set. Otherwise I may be out for the Carnage run... Im more than happy to provide meals and what not and should be able to get into my neighbors lift. I can get the rear torn down and shafts and carrier out but the whole shimming process is a mystery to me and Im pretty sure I wont be able to do this one on my own... :?

thanks
Jeff

Are you re-using the R&P, just want to double check. If you can wait for the week, I can head out one day/night and this would be a quick job.

Jeff, I don't know if you already bought the new locker, but have you considered pulling the carrier and welding anything that moved?

This might be a good chance to see if you like a spool at the cost of only a little time.

Hey Joe
i planned on ordering the locker today but got busy with work... also talked with Lou and he feels the ARB has too high a failure rate, pushed me toward either a replacement stock rubi locker or an OX.... too many damn decsions...

Chris I am planning on reusing the same R&P as they are fairly new (500miles) and still look OK.... So now I probably wont have parts in time for the weekend... Grrrrrrrrr

Jeff -

I'll let you know what I think of the OX locker in a week or so when my front axle shows up....

Lose one set of ring bolts and you go and get all freaky ! get new ones with every install or repair. Rule of thumb . FjR68
