Torch

So I'm sick of using my cheap home depot torch setup. At $8 for 15 minutes of O2 is ridiculous. I talked with my local welding shop and he recommended a smith setup with an 80 cubic foot O2 tank. It is over $500 however! I also saw the campbell hausfeld (http://www.google.com/products/catalog? ... CDcQ8wIwAg#) only a 10 cubic foot O2 tank, but it is nice and portable. anyone have a good setup they can recommend? anything to watch out for?

Craigslist. There's usually a couple setups on CL worth looking at. I also know typically its the torches themselves that will set apart different deals, but I can't really speak to what torches you should be looking to get.

Can't you just get bigger tanks and use the torch you've got?

Its not the torch , its the regulators. Ryan , If your using the torch for cutting ,your going to go through gas like a race car goes through tires. If your heating stuff for release or stuff like that, you can try a smaller tip on the same torch . Your regulators should be at or around 3# o2 and 7# of Ac for most anything. O2 is the back up not the primary. What else you need bro ? FjR68

i asked about using my existing torch, but the valves are made for disposable tanks and can't handle the pressure of real tanks.

i found a few on CL, i'll have to keep my eyes open.

mostly going to use this setup for heating. may use it a little for cutting but not a lot.

Check on NEOW's forum... I think I saw someone advertising a torch set for sale there recently.
