Hi Guys Cant say thank you enough to Kurt, Carl and Frank for coming out and helping other people out and working on all of our rigs! Thats one of the coolest and most amazing thing about the offroad community of paying it forward again and again! thanks to Ralph, Amanda and Dan as well, was great to have you guys over and get a bunch of projects done! The frame patch was just awesome and my oilpan and engine say thanks for getting the skid off of me LOL.
Carl I think you may no longer be a padawan learner and are now a true Jedi. 8-) Well done on the cutting and welding!

Thank you for setting the event up and many thanks to your neighbor for letting us use his two bays.
It was awesome to have so much room to work out of the elements and with heat. :handgestures-thumbupright:
Was great to have the opportunity to get together and knock off a few projects with some great club members!

Now I see how these were suppose to go on.
The upper ball joints would need to be popped out of the "C" before welding to prevent heat damage to the plastic insert inside them.

When we did mine, we left the old ball joints in place during welding and then swapped in a pair of new ones after things cooled down. I found Moog ball joints for a good price on Amazon, but in retrospect, I would have installed some of the newer all metal ball joints. Their longevity is still kind of unproven as far as I know though.

That would have been so helpful at the time. I couldnt figure it out. When did they start putting a plastic bushing in a ball joint ? Is it just on the JKs? Why hasnt some one with a YJ to a JK cut off the inner Cs and welded a CJ or J-Truck, Waggy inner to your axle and have the option for a locking hub ? I would think it would be stronger without the unit bearing and give you true 2 WD at the same time. Its gotta be cheaper than whats on the market and all the bending I read about. Lets do that next wrench fest ! FjR68

what are we looking at? A truss / bracket welded onto the 'C' and the bracket has a link for....... a swaybar? Is this to fit an AntiRock and beef up the C arm or am I way off base?

It's for the sway bar once you have a DS tie rod flip. You have to cut off the driver side otherwise the tie rod hits!
