Jeff - seeing how my project is wicked small? I'm looking at holding off on it. I'll still be there to help, make it a pay-it-forward day. And I can bring my little MIG, that won't be a problem (I'm leaving my new TIG welder at home, that things a beasssssst). I'll have room in my car for the MIG, bottle, cart, all that silly chit :handgestures-thumbupright: It works OK on heavier jobs like frame repairs (ask me how I know  ) but with its crappy duty cycle, she's better suited for lighter stuff

So cross me off the list, and maybe we can spend more time on bigger projects

Also, my tub corner armor painted black and has holes to drill into the tub. Unsure of drilling vs welding as far as rust. Any input guys?
Which means, I must figure out where I put all of the hardware that came with it. I bought it back in 2011/2012 then moved!

Drill baby drill! You want to make sure you have some decent C-clamps, the sheet metal is pretty easy to drill thru, I bought a bunch of poison spyder stuff used but the PO did not supply hardware. The Ace Hardware on Rt 40 (you will drive by it on the way to the shop) sells the bolts and nutserts I used to mount them to my Jeep. About a buck each for the bolt and a less for the nut.... never heard of people welding armor to a tub although Im sure its been done... :music-rockout:

I think mine are poison spyder, too. I don't recall hardware when i got them. Drill in, got it!

"Ok so I had a chance to talk with my neighbor today and we are on to use his shop! Its Legacy Construction and they are easiest to get to on Groton Rd in Westford MA The access road for the shop is a long dirt driveway up a slight incline between 28 and 30 Groton Rd, its a large blue industrial building with heavy equipment outside, as you go down Groton Rd headed toward Groton on the right hand side you will see a small pond and a circular driveway followed by 4 mailboxes together, the access road is immediately after the 4 mail boxes. they are listed as 6 Millstone hill rd but its a sharp turn and easy to miss it. I will post my cell number when we get closer to Saturday"

If time allows, I wouldn't mind cutting down my bumper to a mid length stubby and possibly welding the ends closed for some strength. Id have to pick up some steel for that though.
I'll be bringing some steel. That and some thinner sheet metal, in case anyone needs it

Last I heard, we're circling the wagons at 9 :romance-grouphug: Glad you saw this post, Dan. I saw on that other forum that we're not a part of, the one that doesn't exist? You were looking for a hand, to do some wrenching. Meant to mention this event, saw something shiny................. and here we are

Kurt : I have an extension cord also. Mine looks like a 110 plug but larger . If yours is the same configuration I can bring it. Jeff : Do you need a front D-30 with steering linkage to change it over to a steering box ? I also have a newer gas tank 15 gal. The filler pipe heads toward the right side and the hose went up and to the back by the right rear tail light. Call me if your interested. Calling for snow on fri. hopefully wont interfere . Walmart has to be open 24 hrs. come hell or snow storm ! FjR68

does the rear have round hole openings? I have a pair of LED brake lights I just pulled out and replaced with ones with integrated reverse lights. You will just need two pigtails to hook them up, more or less flush mount too.

Frank: My extension cord is for a "welder outlet" like this...

Carl indicated he's bringing his welder so I was going to leave mine home unless we feel need it for welding or for playing / training.
Ditto for the the plasma cutter.

Yes it looks like that . I was concerned when Carl said his was only good for sheet metal. Must be a 110. If were looking at Jeffs frame we might need yours. The shop had a nice Mig , but pieces were missing last time we were there. We used a stick and someone had an on board welder we tried. Gonna bring a 110 extention and a 4" grinder with wire wheel and grind disk also. FjR68

Yup - his is 110

OK - I'll plan on bringing my 240 V MIG then (Just didn't want to bring it if it wasn't needed.)
Looks like we may need it after all.

I think mine are diamond cut outs.
Do you remember what bolts you bought?!

Yup, rigs a 110. It can do a frame but the duty cycle sucks. Patience, pandawan. I can bring a plasma cutter if we need it

"3/8-16 SS Flat Head Cap Screw" is what is listed in the Poison spyder site for install instructions. The ones I got have a recessed hex head with beveled top and are about an inch long, the head is about 3/4 diameter on the top. make sure to go with nylock nuts...
