Got to work on the bed, banging out Rausch Creek and the damage when it was "totaled"....
Image
Using the hydralic ram to straighten things a bit...
Image
I am preparing to respray the header and fenders...color just looked too thin, a sharp eye will notice in earlier pics...the lighting really isn't all that great and things looked good before they cured...I've come this far might as well do it right.

Also got my repro door handles on (broke both removing) and as with all the other cheap crap they make today they didn't fit -had to adjust the holes in the door. Pulled CB antenna and wires up A-piller to center where they feed the overhead console.

Started the week with Safelite replacing the windshield I put in a month ago...a crack appeared so rather than put another in I decided to let the "professionals" do it. Big mistake as the new glass was not centered properly crowding the lower trim clips, several clips were broken, several more glued out of position which led to the metal window trim being mangled beyond recognition. It took about 3.5 hours to straighten and repair the obsolete trim pieces and reinstall. The lower windshield gasket also looked like a child's finger painting with numerous smears over the newly painted body.

But there was some good progress...out with the old tank...

in with the new..

Out with the old tailgate handle...
Image
in with the newly fabbed one...

and I dropped the bed back on!!!

It's an XJ/MJ thing Frank!!!! Replaced the fuel pump on the Heep once and didn't quite the O ring in the right position. First trip to the gas station ended up being interesting.........

Steve, your rig is looking great!!!! :handgestures-thumbupright:

Busy couple weeks at work, but I've managed to get a little work done on the Jeep....
I blasted my last pair of wheels and my racks...
Image
Welded up the top of each rack post...
Image
Started fabricating plates to bolt the rack to...
Image
And scored a new wheel center cap, $11 shipped - looks better than the other three,
Image
Taped up the hood for more paint.....
Image
and laid down the paint...
Image
also got the front flares properly fitted and buttoned up the valance.
