I decided to contact EBC USA directly to get their opinion on what line of theirs might be best for my application. I told them I was trying to decide between their Greenstuff and Yellowstuff and they came back with a totally different recommendation, their new line called "Extra Duty Light truck, Jeep and SUV brake pads". They sound like they make a lot of sense. Check them out and please give me your thoughts:

Question for you guys. I have also been looking at brake hardware kits and wanted to know if a kit such as this one:

is good for one axle or two. It doesn't say in the description and I simply don't know brake parts well enough.Do I need one kit or two?


Another interesting thing happened. As I search for the best price, I will occasionally leave things in a site's cart and move on. I did it recently for these brakes and one company, CARiD, actually called me and asked why I left their site without completing the order. Told them I was shopping around and wasn't ready to buy and they lowered their pricing, making it the best price I have gotten so far.

That would be for 1 axle since it has 4 rubber boots (2 for each caliper)

There was one other thing I meant to ask as well. In the EBC catalog it says "Do not fit upgrade pads to rear of vehicle unless same upgrade fitted to front to avoid brake imbalance." Is this a big deal? I'll get brake pads all-around if it is, and 2 hardware kits, etc.

I suppose if the new rear pads are more grippy that stock then it makes sense. You'd want to keep the braking force correctly balanced front to rear. Changing just the rears with more grippy pads could upset the brake force balance possibly causing the rears to lock up prematurely.

Don't know this for certain, but I could see where having one axle more grippy than the other might trick the ABS computer into thinking something's wrong...
