Nice! I probably should have got a more mild bike but I thought I would be doing more DH...

I've done DH once and may again, but I won't buy or build a bike for it. I enjoy the single track most.

If either of you guys are lookin . I have a GT full suspension with Veleceraptor tires , Shimano sis derailers and Shimano DID thumb shifter. Long or short travel rear shock. Looks and rides like new. 450.00 . was 1300 when I built it buying the frame and components. FjR68

Any idea what model frame it is? Size? Potential interest here.

Ish : Its a GT model LTS4000 , Metallic gree with a metallic purple swing arm . I didnt mention it has Frog step ins also. If the shoes fit , they go to. I believe it to be a 17in frame. Not a 19. If I recall the 19or21 was to tall for me standing, not riding. I bought the 17" and also a seat extension riser. The tires Frame and working condition is like new . Hope this helps. FjR68

When did you build it? When googling the information provided, it seems that bike is from 1998 and has a 7 speed rear derailleur. Does that sound right?

I would get a nice 26" they are a steal since the 29" thing became "the next thing"

I hear the 27.5 will be even better then both the 26 and 29.

Yeah, that's what I ment! 27.5"! Having road both 26" and 27.5" it depends on what you like more acceleration or rolling over stuff. The 26" has way better acceleration better for technical stuff and more stable landing and carvibg. 27.5" is better high speed stability rolls over stuff a bit better like a jeep with bigger tires.

Yes it was around that time 2000 when I built it. I bought the frame and then all the components that were top of the line . If your talking wheel size , yes its a 26' rim. I had to have knee surgery just after building it and it has hung in the basement for yrs. There arent any dents or scratches in the frame. The 17' is what they designated the frame size at the time. This bike has been ridden very few times. FjR68

Well Frank, it's likely too big a bike for me. My current bike is a 15.5 and it feels just right. Also, even though it's in great shape, it's not built up to the sort of riding I do.
