I have three. Two came in the truck I took the Atlas out of ( with an automatic) and one I ordered last year, for 231/5spd. They're all the same length, and are a little shorter than ideal. Each one I need to send back to lengthen a little bit. The extra long slip shaft is why I am able to run them at the slightly less than ideal length.Frank wrote:No wonder Ive never (knock) had a Tom woods failure . FjR68
If they do fail, though, I'm not worried about customer service.
One u-joint I peeled the grease fitting out of on a rock. I'll get a new gold seal u-joint from them for $20 and call it a day. For now, I thread in a poorly fitting fitting, grease it up, and take the fitting back out. When the shafts are all corrected, I'll install needle fittings before I hit the trails.
(And when I say, "Hit," I mean it rather literally. )
