Ive had my C D L for 20 yrs. The person hauling said Jeeps would only be able to drive 10 hours in any 24 hr period while keeping a log book for D.O.T. Just sayin to figure it in to the arrival time of your equipment. Would you mass trailer dudes be flying out there or doing the good gas mileage car thing. Other questions will pop Im sure. I would soooo like to be on this one. FjR68

Go later in the month for CFAC if you can Jeff, the earlier in Oct we head out West the better. It starts getting cold in the desert sooner than here in the big city. (especially at night)

34 +/- hours of drive time puts those Jeeps 3+ days out.

Doug: Not 100% my call on the next date for CFAC. I can't go to Moab close to that event, so I will have to pass on this trip if its early in the month unless my little Bro is dragging my jeep cross country for me while the event is going.....

I hold a CDL also. Are we talking renting a tractor and trailer ? You know someone with a Tractor and trailer ? I have truck rental people down here and could get prices. The driver is only allowed ten driving hours a day in a commercial vehicle. I would assume a private hauler (Doug) because of the weight would be subject to the same rules. Ill poke around. FjR68

A private hauler is not required to maintain a log. So no worries.

Why wouldn't you go earlier in the year ? As I recall , many were wearing sweatshirts and light jackets. Was it that chilly or cold there when you went ? FjR68

Nice during the day, cool at night. It is the desert after all. Earlier would mean hot during the day.
