Hey Jonathan. I just love my cherokee. It's well trained and even rolls over for me! It love abuse and is easy, somewhat easy, to repair. Although my rig is much a trailer queen now it used to prowl the town of Blackstone alot. Good luck and spend your money wisely, Maybe I'll see you on the trails.

In all honesty, I probably won't be putting any money into mods. Tires, wheels and a lift, maybe, just to make it look more off-road. I'm family orientated so there won't be a lot of crazy wheelin. and there's also not a lot of money for the same. So I'm looking to get something that I don't have to do much to in the first place. My wife loves the inside of the Grands. I like the speed of the 5.9. It's not a daily driver, so I won't worry too much about the gas.
Can I show you a few I am looking at on Craigslist? Let me know what you think...

Frank, if you are in Enfield, by all means, I would like to hook up and talk about options.

Thanks again, you guys are very helpful.

Tires, wheels, and a lift are mods... :)

If you think you're going to buy tires/wheels I'd say you should look at the tires on the vehicle... If they are going to be replaced shortly anyway, don't pay extra for them.

You're going to want to spend some $ on skid plates for the underside.

Jonathan - I know where you're coming from. I wanted to do a mild build and wheel a GC (did I say 'wanted to'? I still do) and I was looking for one but all the specimens I ran across had major rot issues. Some looked really great from the outside but crawl under them and I'm not kidding, a couple had so much rot I couldn't believe they held together. I'm sure there's better examples out there, I was definitely looking at the lower end of the price spectrum. Good luck with your search!

This ones a little further South then you've been looking (NJ/MD). Not sure what he wants for it, just mentions he's letting it go.
