this one happened at "high speed" during a lake christy hill climb... at 11.7:1 there is no such thing as "high speed!"

Let's see..... 4.46 1st gear in transmission X 11.7 uber-low in t-case X 4.56? in axles = 237.95 :-o :-o :-o = DQ'ed shafts on flat ground at idle
Maybe you should look into getting shafts made out of solid stock

At 173 lbs?

11.7....you can walk faster than 4.1, where are you going to crawl at "slower than a snails pace" around here?

Ryans favorite place..... Rock Creek at Rausch :banana-guitar: :banana-guitar:

And at least he does have options for every terrain now :bluesbros:

Yes he does!!

Just for comparison....my crawl ratio right now is 80.92. (6.34 1st gear X 2.61 low range X 4.89 gears with a 35" tire)
If I were to change my t-case to 4.1 it will drop to 124.01.

You can see where my question comes from with Ryans setup being 237.95. Don't get me wrong, I like it, especially with 4.3 middle range.

My calculations were done here... http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html

i'd be shocked if i use the 11.7 more than 5% of my time wheeling. i selected this spread because the 4.3 should be great for rocks. there's no harm in choosing the wide range of ratios since i have a stick, no automatic which "accidentally" shifts for me! i'll be able to "fill in the gaps" without a problem. if 11.7 is too much i can always shift into 6th, that'll give me a ratio around 1st gear in 2.72:1 range.
