Local drive shaft repair shop in Manchester NH

Unread post by nhdcoye »

I had my 2 yr old high angle drive shaft from Drive Line Solutions explode at my first Rausch outing  and was told it was a total loss back in 2006. I purchased a Woody replacement from Lou and a cheap $225 internet special for a spare.
I disintegrated a second shaft :o this year at Rausch and decided to bring both (in a bucket) to Jon's Shafts & Stuff in Manchester NH to see if he could craft a usable spare shaft from the remants of 2 trashed shafts. Ryan had recommended Jon's and I'm glad he did :D
Jon advised it would be a easy fix for the high angle shaft as he had some used parts available to rebuild along with a couple of new joints , as for the internet cheapo he advised me it was not worth fixing
Lessons learned -- You get what you pay for and Support your local shops

2 days and $85 dollars later I have a decent back-up/spare to my Tom Woods daily driver shaft.

Good deal. I've been using a fellow in North Reading - North Shore Axle & Machine. Generally 1 day turn around, good prices and not too far. He's also worked with me in reusing bits when possible.

I used Jon's Shafts & Stuff for my front driveshaft after installing the D44... has been solid so far.

I run a shortened front XJ shaft. Never had a problem and was zero balance spun at three grand.
I'm shortening another at work for a spare (when I have time).
