So I'm looking to replace the spider gears in my d35 (posted in "parts wanted / looking" section) - can someone tell me if the spider gears from yj d35's will fit into my tj d35? Both have 3.07 gears. I think I remember someone long ago saying that they did fit, but I want to make sure before I spend the time and effort.
Please, someone savvy, let me know! Thanks in advance,
- Mark

Provided the YJ D35 is a c-clip axle they'll fit.
Some early D-35's 87-88ish didn't use c-clips.

'93 1/2 YJ and up spiders should fit. There was a change in the carrier at that time where the side gear thrust surface was slightly different.
It was different enough that PowerTrax has two Lockright part numbers for 1993.

Carl!
I plan to join, but not until my only-daily-driver is set up better - and life's been getting in the way: From Stoneham I moved to a house in Medford, where a few problems developed, inluding the landlord getting eviction notices due to non-payment of taxes (eyeroll); then I moved most of my stuff to storage, including my workshop (boooo!), and moved to Bedford. I lost my job (oy!) and from moving myself, ruptured a disc in my lower back (d'oh!). I'm better, and settled in to my cube (that is to say "apartment"). It's cheap, but it has it's drawbacks (I'm "not supposed to work on my jeep in the parking area"!, don't have my work bench, yadda, yadda). It's planned to be a temporary place for a year, and I plan to move to a place where I'm more comfortable. I'm also job-hunting (arch'l cadd op) and pickin's are slim in the construction/design business. As you know, It's a full-time job looking for a full-time job.
So I'm just keeping the jeep going as is, until later when I can continue the upgrade plans: axles that can take a beating, skids, etc... lot's 'o' stuff to do. How's by you?

Re: Info needed re d35 spiders!
Well, things on my end aren't as interesting. Work and school take up most of my days and when I can, I wheel. Fortunately my rig isn't a DD, and it's not like I wheel it hard but I at least have the option of putting off stuff if it needs maintenance. Look forward to wheelin with you sometime Mark, and good luck with the job search!
