Are Rubber Liners Rocker protection worth it?

Are Rubber Liners Rocker protection worth it?
Anyone else purchase/install the rubber liners before mounting rocker protection.

i used grey bathtub surround rubber (few $ at the HD) when i did my rockers. 3M spray adhesive on the body side, and then silicone along the top edge. not sure if it's worth it as i've never taken the rockers off to check, but i don't think it can hurt.

I put Herculiner on the tub under my rocker guards.
