Rubicon Auto Sway Bar Issue

Unread post by JeeperMike »

Replaced my Auto Sway bar motor and assembly due to the original not working. Still not working. Anyone have any experience repairing them or know of any electrical issues I could check? Can still unlock manually so the fun won't stop!

It's my understanding that it's a very long-known issue. Most people just switch to a manually activated Dico adapter for the unit...

(EVO has both a Manual adapter and an On-Board-Air adapted engage)

Can still have the push button if you have onboard air with the Air activated bypass that EVO offers...

Mine slowly stopped working (took longer and longer for it to engage/disengage) until I finally pulled it out and disassembled it. It was full of gunk. I cleaned all the parts, re-greased it, put it back together and reinstalled it. It's worked perfectly and that was 3 years ago. If you just replaced the unit with a known good unit (key words there!) then it could be an electrical issue. You should be able to test that with a meter or simply check the fuses. All that being said, my plan B was to install this little guy instead. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0928RJL4B/ I didn't want to do that because I've got skids completely covering that area and access is limited to say the least.
