Hi community, I'm new here. I need a 4x4 vehicle that is not going to cost me an arm and a leg. I have 2 toddlers so the vehicle must have enough space for all their stuff (Which is a lot).
I was looking at getting one of the following:
2014 Jeep Patriot 2.5l Limited Manual or
2012 Jeep Cherokee III 2.8CRD Limited auto AWD
Thanks

Re: Need advice on what Jeep to buy
The Cherokee is much larger than the patriot so if those are the only options I would go for one of those. Neither is really particularly good for offroading but if you are actually in the UK its not likely much a factor for you. I guess the question would be what you plan to do with it and how is the parking situation in your area. the Patriot is much more comparable to a smaller vehicle commonly seen in the UK and is more nimble for city driving. The Cherokee will be larger and taller and offer better visibility in traffic...

We just bought a Grand Cherokee limited and so far I have no complaints.
Chrome? Never heard of it.

We have a 2018 Compass for our "normal" driving. So far it seems to be a perfect fit for us. Feels like a slightly scaled down Grand Cherokee. Two car seats fit perfectly in the back seat.
Just yesterday I was able to haul 600+ (20 bags) lbs of topsoil which stacked entirely in the back behind the rear seat (I wish my Wrangler had that kind of room!).

I started my life in a 2000 Grand and loved it. With the children, any of the Four-Door options would be a good choice. If you're looking to go Truly off-road, JKU, JLU, or JTs would be a good choice...
