Well the carrier was much tougher to install, couple smacks with the dead blow hammer and I was able to seat the carrier.

Backlash ~.010 (a bit over, but I am not pressing this apart) going to recheck my setup.

What do you guys think... workable?

I am going to button everything up, while awaiting feedback.

Again thanks guys!

Look at the pics Brian posted -- that is the patterning guidelines from the factory service manual.

The worst that can happen is you're back to metal in the oil... No worse off than you are already... ;)

If you pop the fill plug after a few miles of driving you should be able to sample the oil with your finger and find out if there are any metal shavings...

Project on hold until I get back in town. Monday I am planning on installing new breaks and rotors, the old ones were toast.

John - I will be brining back your tools Monday night or Tuesday during the day.

Well headed down to the garage tonight, mounted the new rotors pads, and tires. Gave another look over to insure everything was tight before the test ride.

Ended up going for a 20min ride, hitting back roads and the highway. Didn't hear any odd noises and no longer had that driveline vibe that I had been having (now wondering if the vibes was the bearing). Time will only tell if it was a complete success, but I am happy wit the rebuild and my new tools!
