Hi everyone.
I am the proud owner of a 2017 Wrangler Unlimited Sport in Fire Cracker Red.
at the moment the only mods I have are some entry guards and the carpeted headliner for my hard top. I plan to lift it at least 2- 2.5"s and go up to some nice aftermarket rims and tires (33") currently running 265/65-17 BFG All terrain that came with it as part of the cold weather group. looking forward to being able to join BSJ on the trails next year since I came too late this year.

Hey Dan,
Welcome to the forum! Baystate is a great group and well worth the wait. I was in the same boat as you last year. You can watch for some open events as well when you're ready to hit the trails.

Welcome to the forum. There are a few people here from Worcester/ Shrewsbury with JKs. It's a great group with tons of info. Don't rush to modify....planning is half the fun.

Welcome! Agree. Don’t be too quick to modify, you might regret not going bigger!

I'd love to go for a 3" lift, and according to the MasDot formula that's about what I'm able to do. I'm a little spooked that the new inspection stations might cut me off at the knees. I've been reading some of the posts on the subject.
I don't have a lot experience wheeling. I've played in the mud and on some fire roads when I had a lifted Bronco many years ago but nothing since. not interested in rock crawling, just fun trails and dirt tracks to start. and of course enjoy the scenery too.

I'd suggest just learning and enjoying what the jeep can do. Drop the top, ditch the doors and go for a cruise. Look at other 4 doors, ask questions and learn from other's experience ( and mistakes). Jeeps are fun but can be addictive.

I hear you JeepAddict. I'll learn all I can. I'm not in a huge hurry to lift and seriously modify. I keep the panels off as often as I can, but I don't have a bikini top or soft top and haven't taken the hard top off just yet.

Re: New forum member from Worcester
You can sometimes find good used soft tops craigslist. We got one for our other one two years ago for under $500. I essentially run what amounts to a bikini top from April to November.....doors only when it's going to rain alot. You may even find one for sale on the forum

Mark, for the run tomorrow are we going by our required equipment list for non members? Also what time do you want "the help" to arrive?

When I saw your avatar I got excited (78) . Thought you would have a CJ of some sort. We have three or four in the club , but they are still the cutest evah ! Everyone starts somewhere and dont really want to go crazy . It happens whether you want it to or not. Just get a second job and enjoy the life ! FjR68

You'll have to keep an eye on the forum. I don't know when the next open run is. Not sure if this is an option but, you can always ask if you can "observe" as opposed to actually driving in it. You'd need to check with the powers that be. It may be a way to see if its even something you're interested in.
I miss my 79 CJ Frank. The smell of that 360 firing up was almost better than the smell of bacon cooking.....almost.
