OMG, I wasn't even going to read your review before I instantly posted about this company....but I did in fact read it first.
SPOT ON!
This company shipped me all the frame pieces last year for a rack, and not one single piece of hardware. NOTHING. Not even the tube spacers that elevate the platform guard.
Emailed them, said they would ship it.
Called them, said they would ship it.
Emailed them again, said they would ship it.
One last call, said they would ship it.
One last email....never heard from them again!
Mine actually has "legs" to it which are u-shaped legs if you will.
I've had the thing sitting in my barn waiting for me to go out and buy all the hardware. Just hasn't been a high priority to have the rack.

Re: Olympic Mountaineer Rack
It should have come with spiderweb netting or 47 bungee cord holes to hold all of whats going to be on that shelf. Looks to be just about head height and Jeeps like to throw things at you when you do something stupid. Looks good and solid , but man it such a shame when you pay and then have to chase them or fix it yourself. FjR68

Yes - I certainly wouldn't put anything in the rack without securing it. I think you can replace the bolts with eyebolts so that they function as a securing point for tie-downs. But I just bought this cargo net and am hoping it works. I also plan to experiment with strapping tool cases on the underside of the rack, so that they don't take up floor space in the cargo bay or the top of the rack itself.

Re: Olympic Mountaineer Rack
Update: I had to make MORE modifications to this product. The rack kept sagging because the clamp-mount system never stayed snug enough. I took the clamps and pile of associated parts off and replaced them with a bolt and rivnut mounted into the rear cargo support pillar. I finally got to use my scissor jack - I used it to crank the rack to the right high before I set the rivnuts. At this point, there is not much of this original cargo rack product left in my Jeep . . .
