Re: New Member (wait list!)
Well, it wasn't easy! On the first cap, I melted several expensive titanium drill bits but finally got it done in two hours. On the second one, I did my homework and used cobalt drill bits, a very slow drilling speed and a LOT of cutting oil. Made a huge mess, but I got it done in 30 minutes. Lesson learned!

Those Jerry Cans are really cool.
Am I correct that you took the regular cap and drilled a hole for the spout to fit through, and that the spout is threaded to receive a nut on the backside?
Could you share where you bought that particular spout?

Re: New Member (wait list!)
Yes - the jerry cans are made by Dinuba Water and the spigot is sold on Amazon as "Beverage Dispenser Replacement Spigot,Oak Leaf Stainless Steel Polished Finished, Dispenser Replacement Faucet". I also experimented with several designs for security before coming up with a really good one. It locks both the cap and the air vent hole. I can't figure out how to attach more than one photo to a reply (maybe because it's not possible). But if others have interest in this project, I can start a new post and attach more photos and details.
[and now I can't even get a single photo to upload and attach, so I will have to try again later - sorry]

Re: New Member (wait list!)
Thanks - does it need to be Photobucket or can I use Google Photos (or any other online photo album) to create a url?

Any other photo hosting site that you can get a direct link to the image from should work.MattJ wrote:Thanks - does it need to be Photobucket or can I use Google Photos (or any other online photo album) to create a url?

Re: New Member (wait list!)
Thanks - I'm hoping to finish the project today and will post a full photo album in another section of the forum (since I'm well off the new-member topic now). What is the best place for custom upgrades and designs like my jerry can project? General Discussion?
