Wrenchfest Request

Unread post by RalphTomaccio »

Okay, I have the tie rod, loosened the adjustment collar with the help of Jim (Pirahnah 3), took it all apart, cleaned it up, gave it a fresh coat of paint and reassembled it with a nice dose of anti-seize. Although it appears to be a simple job of removing the old one and installing the new one, I also know about the "unforeseen issue" that usually rears its ugly head in Jeep projects. That's why I am asking for assistance on this. If everything goes smoothly, I would guess no more than an hour is required even with having to detach and reattach the steering stabilizer.

Anyone willing to lend a hand?

Ralph,

I could swing down most any day and give you a hand.
I can bring a TRE puller to get the old one off.

Hi Kurt,

I'll be happy to come up to you, Kurt. That's the least I can do in return for your willingness to help. Also, don't want to risk upsetting the condo board as they don't allow repairing of vehicles in the development. Plus, if there is some issue that pops up, you'll have your vast assortment of tools available at your ready.

This week I have all day Monday and Friday available. Tuesday may be a possibility, but I won't know till tomorrow sometime. The following week is fine as well, any day at the point.

Whatever works for you. Just let me know what time.

Thanks,
Ralph

Let's go with this coming Friday. 10:30am will help me avoid/minimize morning traffic.

See you then!

Thank you.

Whoops! I was just reminded that I have a dental appointment at that exact time. Would early afternoon be okay? I'm guessing I can be up there after that appointment around 1:00. If that doesn't work for you, we can make it the following week.
