New guy in Oxford

Good evening all!

Found this forum while looking around on the quadratec site and was very happy to find a local active group. Just picked up my first Jeep, a TJ, recently and have been slowing doing a few things here and there. She is basically stock, I installed Half doors, and am waiting on the mirror relocation kit to go doorless for the summer. Looking forward to that, the wife however is a bit freaked out about the thought of it.

She is a 4 Liter Automatic with AC (Im sorry honestly I laughed when I saw it had factory air in it, I mean really......)

Previous owners replaced; Distributor, CPS (Real cause of problem), Rear Shocks, Some frame patching, Fuel tank skid plate.

Work to be done, ABS light on and need to investigate (most likely just dirty but unknown yet), front fenders need to be replaced (ordered spares already just need to paint them and install), Plugs wires and the like, Fluid changes, Might need a gasket kit I can occasionally smell coolant burning off but no smoke and nothing mixed in the oil, and check out the front suspension/bushings in general.

I plan to do some mods in the future but nothing too crazy, here is a possible list of mods
2-3 inch lift
New cat back
New Safari Top? Maybe?
Stereo Upgrades (Gotta have good tunes)
Center console of some sort
Lighting upgrades

Looking forward to getting to meet some local addicts and learning about Jeeps.

A Bit about me, Been modding cars since about 1998 Nothing serious back then, but did a little here and there. I have owned several cars mostly Dodge/Chrysler variety (Avenger, Stratus, Dakota) but a couple others thrown in there (Honda Prelude, Saturn, Saab). Currently not looking to get too crazy with this one, want something that I can still drive around town and enjoy the smile I get when I drive it.

My current Stable (not including my work truck which is my daily) is: 1955 Plymouth Savoy, 1990 W350 Plow/Yard Truck, 1995 Mercedes SL500 (Fair Weather Toy), and the 1997 TJ.

Welcome! I'm new here too and already have the bug. I thought most had AC, blasting it when its 90° out makes going topless tolerable.

Amanda - it was he same when I joined with my YJ - just about everybody joining right after me had TJs. The JKs have been out for basically 10 years now, so get used to it.
