New guy from Brookline NH

Unread post by mdes0 »

Hey folks, joined the forum in hopes I could get into the 101 class scheduled for this weekend, if I can get my rig ready in time. This is my first year off roading and when I went looking for a ride I went an unconventional route. I don't have a jeep, I picked up a military Humvee at auction. Since buying it I've done a ton of maintenance and converted it from a troop carrier to a four man crew config. Will be adding a winch soon as well as some electrical upgrades. Hope to see you all out on the trails!

Matt

Hey! Nice Humvee!

Our Jeep 101 is only for Jeeps. Your Humvee is probably a foot wider than our rigs. The trail at the 101 isn't wide enough for you fit. HOWEVER, YOU CAN ATTEND the 101, show off your humvee, and ride passenger with someone who has an open seat.

Check out the NEA and there are offroading clubs that are not Jeep specific.

I notice you're from NH. I frequently run trails with a group up there as many of us do, not a club per se, called Exploring NH. They allow most any vehicle into their runs. Check them out at :

Like Amanda said, tho, you are more than welcome to join the lecture part of our Jeep 101 if you wish.
