Favorite Muffler/Exhaust

Unread post by Baseshakers »

So the Flowmaster 50 I have in my jeep has rusted through in multiple spots... it's time for a new exhaust system. The tubes are all shot as well, so I'm looking at a cat back system. Anyone have a muffler/system they recommend or don't recommend? I have heard good things about the banks monster flow (http://www.bankspower.com/products/show/417/97) The Flowmaster 50 struck a nice balance as it wasn't obnoxiously loud, and I'd like to have an exhaust system which doesn't drone on the highway. Suggestions?

I'll make it easier... Anyone put an aftermarket muffler in their jeep and have an opinion about it?

I have a Spintech that was installed by Clayton when he did the long arm. Drones a little on the highway, but not too bad. I don't see a difference in power or anything. Sounds OK at idle.

I have the Banks Monstah and really like it. Cat back, easy install, similar to what you have - a little growl but it doesn't drone

I may be installing the Dynomax 39524 Rockcrawler soon so will be able to give feed back on that.

Awesome, thanks everyone! I'm leaning banks. I think I should just go with a full cat back system instead of just the muffler, since a bunch of the tailpipe is rotted out

I have the banks tailpipe if you can just get the muffler your welcome to it, all the hangers and clamps are on it I think about 2 inch was cut off end to push tip back farther.

I've been running a Borla cat back for years. It's stainless, sounds throaty but not annoying and good overall.
