Jeep Junk yards?
Hey guys, does anyone know of junk yards in the Greater Boston area that regularly has Wranglers? There are a few bits and pieces on my TJ that's completely worn out that could use a cheap replacement!

Things that I'll pick up if cheap:
Front driver seat (the vinyl is all ripped up and a big hole in the foam has formed)
Full size doors
Torque box (not sure if it's feasible to drill out all the spot welds, but there are parts of my torque box that are very thin)

You can get a Mastercraft seat for a pretty reasonable price.
JKU Commando- I've tinkered with her a tiny bit.

Do you currently have half doors and are looking to also have full doors? Or are you looking to swap doors and run only full doors?eqcliu wrote: Full size doors
Also, what color is your TJ?

Re: Jeep Junk yards?
Realistically I don't want to spend that much. The Jeep is my weekend fun car/beater and I'm spending the majority of my budget on getting the frame, front drive shaft, and torque box repaired. I might want to just pull a large chunk of foam from a junkyard car and stuff it in and do the repairs myself.Spudcannons wrote: You can get a Mastercraft seat for a pretty reasonable price.
Currently have half doors and looking to trade for full doors. I'm planning on running no doors for the summer and throwing full doors + hard top on for the winter. My TJ is black and so are my half doors.BlackNBlue-ISH wrote: Do you currently have half doors and are looking to also have full doors? Or are you looking to swap doors and run only full doors?

Re: Jeep Junk yards?
These questions are selfish of me, as I have always wanted half doors and currently have full doors. I've got the dark grey interior and black soft top. What are the interior colors of your doors, and do you have soft/hard uppers?eqcliu wrote:Currently have half doors and looking to trade for full doors. Going with my handle, blacknblue-ish, I'd be down with black doors, but I don't know if you'd be up for patriot blue full doors.
Let me know your thoughts.

Do you ride solo or usually have a passenger?eqcliu wrote:Things that I'll pick up if cheap:

If solo, unbolt the seat bottoms and swap them side for side
If you have an occasional passenger.... swap the seat bottoms like above, buy a chunk or two of foam from Michael's or Jo-Ann fabrics, stuff away on the bad seat, liberal use of duct tape as needed, install set of $20 Wally Word seat covers, done!
You can't bolt on experience!!!!!!

I really found a huge difference in how I felt at the end of the day driving when I went to my mastercraft suspension seats. Lot less tired from being jostled around.... look for "ray moulton" on Facebook. he parts out a lot of jeeps for someone in New England... may have seats for you....

Good find! Contacting him as we speak. If that doesn't work out I might just stick in a few chunks of foam and glue in an entire sheet of vinyl over the seat bottom.
