Wrenchfest

Unread post by RalphTomaccio »

I have a few relatively small tasks that I'd like to accomplish on my JKU and am looking for some help. I need someone with a torque wrench capable of 130 pounds of torque. I don't think a jack or stands are needed, but may be nice to have handy just in case.

What I would like help with is:
1. Replace the driver's side lower control arm which is bent
2. Replace all the LCA & track bar bolts with a grade 8 hardware kit I purchased from Northridge
http://www.northridge4x4.com/shop/nr4x4 ... rdware-kit
3. Install front and rear LCA bolt-on skids

As you can see, doing one pretty much gets parts of the other tasks completed as well. My main concern is achieving the 130 pounds of torque. And, I would feel much more comfortable doing these things with someone who has more experience than me just in case I ran into an issue I'm not familiar with.

Beer and pizza or your favorite lunch is certainly not out of the equation. Anyone interested?

Ralph,
I be happy to help. :)
I'm "booked" this weekend but could give you a hand 6/27, 6/28 or 6/29.

Hi Kurt,

That's great, thanks Kurt! Friday the 27th works really well for me, with the 28th as an option as well. Pick one and let me know which you prefer and what time would be good. You can PM me your address.

Thanks again,
Ralph

Thanks, Frank! I guess I'm still a little green behind the ears. Takes awhile to work off that "newbieness" (is that even a word?). With your help, I should be able to become an acceptable member in the off-road world.

Happy trails!

No problem Dennis. :)
It would certainly eliminate a few hours of driving.
