In general, I have a hard time asking for help in anything I do. The first few times I got hung up I felt embarrassed and humbled. Then, after those first few hang ups and after having been given ample opportunity to figure out how to get out of it myself, the guys just jumped right in to help. They seemed to be enjoying it immensely and I came to the conclusion that THAT is part of what makes off-roading so enjoyable - the challenge of picking the right line, not getting stuck, helping others get unstuck and the learning experience of it all. Ralph hit the nail on the head! We don't get excited about recovering a Jeep because we're smug or laughing at you, we just love doing it! For me, it's an extension of the challenge of off roading. We've all been on the other end of that strap so never feel pressured to do anything you're not comfortable doing.

Off roading is no place for peer pressure, not in giving, and not in receiving. You will get to know the peeps around you VERY quickly. Most of us poke fun...but NEVER do something you aren't comfortable with. Ever. That being said, it's ok to stretch your wings and feel a little challenged, but that should be a challenge to yourself, not one someone is imposing on you.
