"New" Wrangler in the stable

Unread post by ArticRubi »

Another work day with Dennis today. Finished prepping the 4.0, got the Banks header installed along with a cleaned up intake manifold, spray bomb on the block, lots of loose ends. She's all set back in the heep now:

The "hard" part is over, now I have to figure out wiring. Getting it fired and running should be fairly easy. It's an OBD-I engine so not much to contend with. I do want to get a functioning dash though so there is a lot of work in that department. If you're wondering about the plastic bags, they're covering plugs ect from power washing the engine before install.

Yessir coming along nicely, much of that due to Dennis being such a huge help. He's put in 3 full days with me thus far and I think he's as excited about the project as I am! It's very close to completion but I'm sure there's going to be plenty of nickel and dime stuff that will eat up time and delay me. Aim is to have her running for Swanzey. Most of the parts I may need and don't have are readily available same day through an awesome local parts house. My transfer case shifter is a big question mark right now, ordered a universal 241 shifter from Advanced Adapters 10 days ago and still haven't got word it has shipped. :o

You can adapt the stock tcase shifter to work with the 241.
I did it with my YJ.
It just shifts backwards. Forward is 4LO, back is 2 HI.
Works out better as the tcase shifter is forward and out of the way in 4LO. :)

That's why you're The Kurt. Thanks, I'll look into that. I figured worst case scenario I can just manually shift it into 4LO and leave it :D

DUNCAN - I SENT YOU A PM, THIS IS THE SECOND TIME. ANSWER IT.
I KNOW YOU LOG IN AND POST UP...
YOU HAVE A RUN SCHEDULED AT BROOK RIDGE HERE AND THE PROPERTY OWNER(S) / PROPERTY MANAGER KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT IT.

THE LAST RUN THERE I MADE HAPPEN AND IT WAS THE SAME THING GOING ON.
