Thanks everyone, really good info. But I couldn't pull the triggah. Not yet! Found a set of bad-Larry MT's on steel wheels. Price was right (i.e., wicked awesome ked) and with a little elbow grease they should clean up nice and hold me over until I decide what to spend my hahd earned Benjamin's on. These are 33's with 80% tread (I measured it). Can't believe how many tires are listed as "90% tread" and they're closer to 60%. Spend $5 at AZ and get a tread gauge. Worth every penny

Good news, they're steel rims. Bad news, they're chrome. With lots o'rust

A quick wet sand took most of the rust off and churched them up a bit

Need to finish sanding them and maybe paint them black. Not sure I'll like them murdered out but if I don't........... big deal. Paint is cheap :handgestures-thumbupright:

I'd replace the chrome caps with plastic to avoid future problems. Rust or crushed, if they get stuck it's trouble on the trail.
