I have to say, the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Her whole family is very nice. Her mom gave me a big hug like I was her Son and I never even met the lady prior to the wake.midniteryder wrote:Carol and I paid our respects to Eve at her wake Thursday night.. Re: Evelyn Howe
Yesterday we brought Eve's Jeep from Gloucester to her Brothers house in Norfolk. He has plans to "fix it up" with her son Tim. I told him to keep us posted as there are a bunch of Baystaters that want to help with this.
When I loaded it on the trailer, I noticed a couple of things right away...
Both front axle u-joints are ready to fall out, and the lower control arms look like pretzels...LOL.

Re: Evelyn Howe
I am still in a state of shock from the news of the tragedy. I also remember Eve's first run. She went out of her way to drive my wife home to Hingham after I broke my steering box bolts on the trail.

Re: Evelyn Howe
How weird to see Eve's Jeep.
Thank you so much, Doug, for doing that for her family.
The service on Friday was very beautiful, it is still with me and I still am having difficulty with Eve no longer being with us.
I am so glad she was at the spring meeting. Eve was so happy that day, telling me about her great apt. on the water, smiling and bubbly as usual.
It's such a great memory of my last time with her.

Re: Evelyn Howe
Saw Evelyn's Jeep yesterday when driving my future step-daughter to school. Right around the corner from Cheryl's house in Wrentham. We never realized her family was so close by.
