Disco's

Unread post by Carl McFly »

Question for the Jeep-i Masters. Teraflex makes sway bar quick disconnects, different flavors depending on lift and model. Got a line on a set of disco's for a 4" lift but it's supposedly not compatible with a TJ. Web site says this model fits XJ, MJ and ZJ but that's it

Several people told me it's a direct bolt on for a TJ. My question is..... is it? TSeems like it should be. I'm thinking the retaining system used to tuck it out of the way when it's disconnected is different but that's all I can see. Here's the URL for the TJ kit

Your second link looks like my TJ disconnects. I drilled thru the body for the bolts for when the sway bar links are disconnected.

It probably will bolt on, but, the length of the disconnects will cause the geometry to be off slightly. The arms on the sway bar roughly should be perpendicular to the links when at rest; if the length is off by enough, the sway bar won't provide a consistent effect across the suspension travel.

I'd consider a set of JKS adjustable links. You can tailor them to fit your lift.

Looking at JKS disco info, and the difference seems to be for the lift heights achieved. Different lengths needed to fit different models and lift heights.
01 TJ with 4" lift, right Carl?

5pm edit: Hardware and length of links on the teraflex products, in stock.
We don't always sell Teraflex Quick Disconnects, but when we do, we accept cash, check or credit.
Stay disconnected, my friends.

lol who talks like that?!? Wait... sounds like someone I know........

Tx everyone. Not going to Antirock. Not yet. Taking a closer look at the specs, seems that a quick disconnect for a TJ with 0 - 2" lift is equivalent in size to a quick disconnect for an XJ, ZJ or MJ with 3 - 4" lift. And good call Jon, I'll look into that
