You should just forward the bill to their insurance company. If the accident is their fault you aren't liable for property damage.

Talked with a pretty arrogant rep from CMR Claims on behalf of Verizon. Tried to explain to her that there was no pole involved in my accident and Cheryl's accident was minor (<10 mph) and left no visible damage. We took pictures of the pole and it hasn't been replaced as they insist. Her retort was "we have a police report that says.." She told me we can go to court and Verizon will win and I'll have to pay their court costs also.

Never filed a claim or report on the Subaru cause I fixed it myself for under $1K.

I have the police report somewhere, just got to dig it out or get another copy. Got to notify my insurance company tomorrow that Verizon is filing a claim.

They probably have you mixed up with another accident. Not that that helps you. :\

Get them to send you a copy of their report.

Exactly what I was trying to explain to them. They didn't want to hear it.

Notified my insurance co today, with specific instructions not to pay any claim from Verizon as it is based on error.

@JW -Good idea,, thanks. Perhaps someone on their end "filled in the blanks" on their copy.

Well, what I was thinking was if you can get a copy of their report you can talk to the PD that issued it. Also, you know what evidence they will have if they want to take you to court... If you can show their police report isn't the right one that will be the end of the court case right there.

Long lost update on this post. Ultimately, my wife got a hearing from the merit ratings board over the WRX incident. We won! Thinking about looking into an insurance fraud claim against CMR Claims, Verizon and my insurance co for their deliberate indifference to the facts and knowingly paying a false claim.
