Other insurance Co is Hartford Casualty Ins. I don't have collision so my Ins. agent told me my company won't go to bat for me.
Hartford Casualty has told me via phone that they are accepting 100% liability.
Police at the scene, other driver had 2 passengers, no citation issued.
Filed a claim on 1/2 and heard nothing till I made a pest of myself on 1/7.
Trying to be a nice guy, told Hartford I would forgo a rental,(which they offered) and got car out of storage, saving them an additional 7 days storage @$35 a day. Lets see if their nice to me.

Thanks :handgestures-thumbupright:
Don't cut their insurance company any breaks. YOU are not at fault and YOU are being inconvenienced. THEY need to make things right, not the other way around.

Insurance will try to get away with doing as little as possible, at your expense...

hi Steve. Since you have no collision nothing your company can do for you. Always harder to file vs other carrier but liabilty is no question. Just stay on top of them. (Have to disagree with NOSTAW'S opinion on how insurance companies operate) Good luck and keep me posted.

Sorry, personal experience has shown me I can't trust a liable parties' insurance to do the right thing. They play games, delay responses, and make it difficult.

My own insurance companies have generally been reasonable to deal with.

Message from insurance CO, deemed total loss. They have my settlement figures but have to check if I'm late on child support first???
Phone tag continues, never get through to them, always an answering machine.

Frank - he's referring to a new regulation here in MA that requires insurance companies to check with DCF to see if the payee has any back child support due. If so, the insurance check goes to DCF, not to the payee.

While I'm all in favor of aggressive efforts to collect back child support, I think some methods reach too far, and I think this is one of them. Intercepting a tax return is one thing, at least the state is an interested party. Interference in contractual transactions between two parties just goes too far for me.
Pacifism is a shifty doctrine under which a man accepts the benefits of the social group without being willing to pay - and claims a halo for his dishonesty.

Figures are in...
Total loss value $3700.81
Scrap value $374.82
Payout if I keep vehicle $3400.99

I know those figures do not add up. I do not trust them, since they first quoted scrap value at $2416.00, I laughed out loud and told them the decimal point was off. They called back with the figures above. Does any of this seem reasonable?
Rob I'll PM ya the vin :handgestures-thumbupright:

Absolutely NOT ! But the value to us Im sure is more then a scrap yard. Didnt mean to imply your a d b d at all. I think the state should try to recover monies owed and never believed by putting them in jail would solve anything. My apologies . FjR68

Found this on NADA classics...

Value Explanations
Prices shown are retail consumer values and to be considered as selling prices. Trade-in values are to be determined by local dealers and are generally lower than values shown.
Low Retail Value
This vehicle would be in mechanically functional condition, needing only minor reconditioning. The exterior paint, trim, and interior would show normal wear, needing only minor reconditioning. May also be a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration. Most usable "as-is".
Some of the vehicles in this publication could be considered "Daily Drivers" and are not valued as a classic vehicle. When determining a value for a daily driver, it is recommended that the subscriber use the low retail value.
Note: This value does not represent a "parts car".
Average Retail Value
This vehicle would be in good condition overall. It could be an older restoration or a well-maintained original vehicle. Completely operable. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are presentable and serviceable inside and out. A "20-footer".
High Retail Value
This vehicle would be in excellent condition overall. It could be a completely restored or an extremely well maintained original vehicle showing very minimal wear. The exterior paint, trim, and mechanics are not in need of reconditioning. The interior would be in excellent condition.

Adding insult to injury.........got a bill from Verizon, $2716.20 for a damaged telephone pole. I got hit and Cheryl didn't even deploy airbag in her "bump" with my Subaru, no damage on that pole. They claim they replaced the pole. Liars, I took pictures. Let the games begin.
