Soft doors for YJ with a hardtop
I was looking to try to adapt a soft door setup for my 94 YJ with a hard top. I have made inquiries to Bestop previously and was told their full soft doors would not fit a YJ with a hard top. I have done some research online and found some posts where people have coupled YJ hard half door lowers to TJ soft uppers to work with a YJ hardtop. My preferance would be to somehow make a full soft door setup work with my YJ hard top. Can anyone give me any info/suggestions?

I've got an assortment of YJ full softs, TJ full softs plus half hards with soft uppers of each type.
I'll take a look and see if there looks like there may be a way of creating a set of full softs for use with a YJ hardtop.

Kurt, I have checked out the thread. It is similar to others I have seen. Seems to involve a hard half yj door lower being paired with a soft TJ upper. Still have not seen anything about a full soft door combo

Re: Soft doors for YJ with a hardtop
I just looked at my YJ full soft doors and I believe they fit to my hard top. Too bad I want to keep them!
They have the rounded upper rear corner and not the angled corner.
It looks like TJ soft upper fit perfectly on YJ soft lowers. Worked for me when I put them together.
Another option would be to get a set of TJ full soft doors and just swap the TJ latches for YJ latch's on them.
They are just held on by 4 bolts.

Re: Soft doors for YJ with a hardtop
So I found a nice set of YJ soft doors on ebay in brand new condition. They came in yesterday. I test fit them and the lower fits perfectly, latches great, seals perfectly. The upper (which is rounded in the upper rear corner like my hard-top) on the other hand is too long on the back end to close properly. I suspect this is why people talk about using a TJ upper with the YJ lower.
