Re: Moab Attendee list
Day two and another 600 miles down.
Traffic was heavier than expected through Ohio and lots of road construction in Indiana slowed us down a bit but we came in at less than 11 hours on the day.
Currently in Coralville, IA, right near Iowa City and the University of Iowa.
Some photos, but not many.
Crossing the Mississippi River:
This Masshole had been tailgating me for 1100 miles at this point:

Re: Moab Attendee list
Thanks, wishing you were all here with us. The road gets a little boring without anyone you know on the other side of the CB. LOL
Currently in Ogallala, NE. I'll post up road pics after we get back from dinner.

Running Fins & Things with our neighbors today as our first trail. So much for only running easy/moderate as first trails. LOL

Re: Moab Attendee list
Fins-N-Things isn't bad/tough... Plenty of go-arounds for the challenging stuff. I think that was the first trail we hit in Moab in '09 too.Modeler wrote:Running Fins & Things with our neighbors today as our first trail. So much for only running easy/moderate as first trails. LOL
Lots of nice views too!
Have a good time!

Re: Moab Attendee list
Thanks John.
Beth was a little freaked out on doing Fins first off. Let's just say that after today on something as easy as Bull Canyon and Gemini Bridges, we won't be doing Fins & Things this trip. She doesn't like cliffs or drop offs. LOL
Pics if I can get a good connection tonight.

Mr Fisher borrowed my safari top when he went out and it still has red dust on it. That stuff never comes off.
I like Beth's choice of shirt too.

Did the touristy thing today and hit the Arches National Park. All pavement but found out at the Visitor's Center there was a dirt and 4x4 only road out to Tower Arch and around the back side of some of the structures to the North side of the main road.
Selected pics of the day:
Look at the little spot on the top of the spire
It is this guy
Yes, I know it isn't a Jeep, but I love old iron.
Slide show from today's Arches National Park (on some of the pictures near the end the camera setting changed, they came out grainy):

Replaced the front driveshaft this evening with a spare I'd rebuilt a couple years ago. It started to vibrate at speed and I found that the spline joint had about an 1/8 of an inch movement when I pushed up from the underside, it was also making the sparrows angry (but that could have been lubed out).
Going to the La Sal Mountain area tomorrow.
