Replacing the stock gas skid with an aftermarket and can't seem to remove the 2 bolts ABOVE the rear track bar. Can I go ahead can cut off the bolts and replace with new hardware?

Maybe. Is it the strap bolts or the ones holding up the skid? You can cut any of them, but you will most likely have to weld new ones on. You can do it without welding, but it is tough.

It's the 2 bolts which is on the side that has 3 bolts. Ended up cutting the bolts...

That is the worst time. The tank is full of vapors and it is the vapors that burn/explode, not the liquid state.

Needless to say the bolts were not welded in, they ended up being carriage bolts.

Chris - what kind of skid you end up with? I went with Rokmen, she's a beast. And the added clearance was a nice bonus. Needed the 1" BL for that, but that base was already covered. And those carriage bolts..... :eusa-think: have to wonder what the Jeep engineers were thinking, making this easy on us

Rokmen... Price was right and they had a free shipping special. What a PITA to put in. Also sprayed undercoating to the entire bottom of the jeep, while the tank was out.

They must have changed the 1" BL requirement b/c they told me that I would be ok with their 1/2" BL. Trying to stay with that really really low COG. Also adding the SkidRow engine skid and riddler diff cover. Next is to install this York compressor, when I have the extra $$ for the million $$ bracket.
