WilderNest adventure topper

Unread post by SteveB »

Saw this via ComancheClub.com a couple hours ago and have been up scheming since....
http://denver.craigslist.org/rvs/3013373723.html

It was tight sleeping under the topper last summer, this would be some serious luxury.

hmmm....
32 hours one way, (could stop at cousins place halfway in Chicago),
1980mi one way,
about 200 gallons fuel round trip(@20mpg),
about $775 in gas

Am I nuts? (rhetorical).

Fly out , buy the truck , and drive it home. Or fly out , buy the truck and drive it home and sell the truck to me. FjR68

The truck is tempting, but I love mine and really don't have that kind of cash on hand. I think I could swing the topper and gas to get it though. It's a good excuse for a road trip.

ROAD TRIP approved and confirmed, gotta be in CO by Sunday afternoon!

Just got in....straight. No test naps....I'd like to give it a "thorough" cleaning. It's in pretty good shape, showing it's age a bit but fully operational and watertight!

I think I set a new personal record for consecutive hours awake.

"Chip, I'm all jacked up on Mountain Dew!" -TR Bobby

EDIT
Final random statistics:
221 gallons
$810.75in fuel
4026.4 corrected mileage(speedometer reading 7.7% low) confirmed to w/in 3 miles by Google maps
18.2mpg
69 hours round trip
5 hours sleep total: 4 hours in St Charles, Il, 1 hr at random IA rest stop.
$3.67per gallon average
$50.93 in tolls

Forgot to record FL OZ of Mountain Dew consumed.
