After market rear axle stud replacement

Unread post by ChrisD »

Had an axle shaft stud that some how become bent. Can I just use a grade 8 bolt to replace or should I just contact the manufacturer for a replacement stud?

You'll need a proper wheel stud to replace the bent one with.
Most any auto parts store should have them.
Just pound the bent one out with a hammer and then put the new one in.
You'll need to use a lug nut and a few washers under it to draw it into the wheel hub.

Kurt these are Superior Axle shafts, that have the threaded holes for the 4.5" or 5" spacing.

Most speed shops should have the screw in studs in different sizes. Usually come in packs of 5.
