Re: trip dates?
I called one place and got a rough estimate for Oct of 1800 per Jeep round trip for a three position trailer. I'll be contacting more as time allows at work.
Speed costs money, how slow do you want to go?
trip dates?
I talked to the shipper Andy used... He has 6 semis in his company, based in Manchester NH and moves stuff like this all the time. Said he can load 4 jeeps into a trailer with as much gear as you want. Is a fully enclosed trailer and he has vehicle lifts in the back.
I explained the dates... He would go out / back and wait on location.
Wasn't cheap though... He said ~$3k/jeep.

Re: trip dates?
The place I talked to was referred by a friend that bought a car on e-bay and used them.
The lady I talked to at this place owned a Wrangler herself and was familiar with why we want to go to Moab.

Towing out with $3.80+/- gas (it was cheaper out there) runs about $1500-$1600.
And you get to hear me on the CB all night. :teasing-knob: :music-tool:

Re: trip dates?
Andy used a website, uship.com, to send his stuff back. You can basically describe what you need to ship / where and get bids from shippers to do the job. Not sure it would work perfectly for us, but it may be an option to try...Modeler wrote:I called one place and got a rough estimate for Oct of 1800 per Jeep round trip for a three position trailer. See if Jennifer Brennan wins the bid to haul your Jeeps out there.

Anyway, that isn't how this works. You pick which shipper you want based on the bids they've offered.

Re: trip dates?
So, the wife now thinks she wants to drive out. No tow vehicle and trailer unless I rent an F250 and trailer through Hertz Commercial or U-haul (F150 or equivalent) which is just as expensive as shipping.
Looks like we are going to iron butt it in the Jeep.

There are also a couple of trailer "rental" options I recently posted.
