Help with missing parts

Unread post by KevinP »

I was working on my 95 YJ today and found a broken bolt on the floor. I looked around to see where it came from, and saw that the passenger side motor mount was totally missing. The distributor is holding the motor up. :-o Nothing on the block except the other part of the broken bolt. This is where I need some help. I'm new to Jeeps so I dont know all the parts involved. It seems to me that the motor mounts I found online wont bolt up to anything. Am I missing a bracket too?? :angry-cussingblack:

Is you Jeep a 4 or 6 cylinder?

The 4 cylinders had an issue with weak passengers side motor mounts and they would break.
Sounds like you may be missing the bracket that bolts to the block and maybe the rubber mounting isolator.
Should be very similar bracket and rubber isolator setup on the drives side.

Just to add to Kurts info, the 4 cylinders had a 1" steel "adapter"or cradle that often broke. Mine did years ago, but I think I used a regular XJ mount which was taller, mounted backwards with a piece of steel I added in. To be honest, that was like 14+ years ago, so I can't exacty remember.

Can you post a picture?
