My aluminum valve caps decided to weld themselves to my valve stems. Found this out on the NEA snow run, I could only air down 3 tires. 3 covers were only stuck, came off after some persuasion. The 4th cover assimilated my valve stem. They are one now.
Bottom line, is there a quick and dirty way to get that aluminum cover off or should I just go to a garage and have them break the wheel down and install a new stem?

break out the dremil and carefully cut a couple slits in the cap.

Two pairs of slip joints or Robogrips should do it.

Had the same problem with the Aluminum caps on my TJ when I bought it
Gotta be careful if you try two pairs of pliers. You can separate the brass valve stem from the rubber body if you muscle it too much

If dremel doesn't work Carl, I'm right up in North Reading and can whip the tire off and replace the valve stem for you.
