Back to work (finally)

Unread post by 84cj »

Monday was a weird day, in the morning my wife called and told me that she and 799 other people will be losing their jobs in March,( you may have read the article in the globe or the wall street journal about Sun Life Financial) (Also, keep in mind, other than a short consulting gig, I have been out of work 13 of the last 16 months). Pretty hard day to say the least we talked about returning some X-mas gifts and planning for the worst case scenario. Then, after dinner I received a call and was presented with a job offer ( I had been waiting for the call for a few weeks from a company I had started the interview process with back in early November). I started work on Tuesday...

Let's hope my wife Nora won't have to go through what I had to endure.

Damn Curtis, talk about bittersweet victory..... Im sure Nora will land on her feet and Im glad you are back into the swing of things.

My company is in the midst of a blood bath as well. 10% world wide reduction in force.. I believe I will be still standing when the dust settles but the landscape will be greatly changed such that I may be better off to get the boot. Merry Xmas one and all.
