CB power supply for JK

Unread post by funnypontiff30 »

looking for the easiest way to run power thru the firewall to battery or power supply under dash. I have spent the last 45 mins with no luck on either of these

Do you want constant power or switched?

For your 2008 JK...
12V constant at the ignition switch is lt blue with a red stripe, caution here it's only rated for 10 amps (should handle your CB). If you can find a grommet to get through the firewall, direct to the positive side of the battery would be best.
Switched ignition (at the ignition switch) is pink.

I run one of these, both in my Scrambler and in my truck. Makes wiring up accessories a breeze.

I ran it to the extra 12V lighter and it works now...not sure why I didn't try it before

I run a plug to the lighter so I can swap the CB easy between rigs.

In the JK, remove the side panel from the side of the dash (the part that the door closes against.) Inside you'll see a hole approximately 1.5 - 2" in diameter filled with styrofoam (note: my memory may inflate or decrease hole sizes.) This is a pass through for running cables. Just use a metal coat hanger or similar to punch through it to thread your cable and it'll pop out under the hood.
