Track Bar Squeak

Unread post by Carl McFly »

Question for the Jeep-i Masters out there. Since installing my new lift yesterday, I have this squeak in front. I didn't notice it at first but I was so focused on driving feel and waiting for death wobble (that never happened), it might have been squeaking yesterday but I didn't notice it

Today, no top / no doors, oh yeah, I can hear it. And it was easy to find the source pretty quick. ANY suspension movement, and it squeaks. The problem is the heim joint on my RE adjustable track bar. Any movement of the heim joint causes the squeak. I loosened the lock nut and put a wrench on the joint, you can hear the squeak in the video

I doused it with PB Blaster and it's a little quieter, but still there. There's no grease fittings on the joint. My question is, what's the fix for this? A new heim joint? Can you get one with a grease fitting? At least now it's bearable and PB Blaster is cheap enough, but that's a band aid. I'd rather do it right

Buy a tub O' grease and throw some on. Then work the joint (in the morning...) back and forth to get the grease in the nylon.

When you're done, or every ten thousand points, you need to do two more....

Cool. I like that option, it's better than the last thing that quieted it
