Body Mounts

Whats the deal,Rubbah or plastic. The ones I took out were collapsed but some thirty years old.(Rubbah) Every thing I see is Poly. Is it that much better or do I get two sets of stock rubber ones and have my 1" body lift. Anyone still make the rubber ones? Talk to me goose ! FjR68

Crown probably offers them in rubbah.

Poly don't flex as much and plays better with most chemicals.

The front section of my cage is tied through the floor into my Rocker Knockers?. I use black (no squeak) body poly bushings and it's like a nice solid frame tie in.

Frank, mine were rubba also. 25 years old, just replaced with rubba part #2330 at advanced.

Might get a little squishy stacking stock rubber mounts.

Here is a post I found from another forum describing HP body lifts and why I wouldn't use them.

I've been in the plastics industry for 16 years. I've worked with everything from common polystyrene to advanced polymer blends. I don't play hockey, there is not much ice in California, but I do know that hockey pucks used by the NHL (and mostly everyone else) is made from vulcanized rubber. I learned this with a quik 5 minute search. I also know that a PA bodylift is made from reinforced nylon I read it on my empty box in the garage. These are two completely different plastics. The vulcanized rubber compound is tough, it will not how ever withstand 50,000lbs of force. The rubber compound used in pucks will also absorb oil,salt and other chemicals found on roads and highways and quickly start to break down the chemical structure inturn making the puck soft and prone to deforming it's shape.

Reinforced Nylon is just that...a nylon reinforced with fiberglass, carbon, or and number of other materials including kevlar. Nylon will resist oil and chemicals, heat as high as 650 degrees and as low as 150 degrees below zero. It also so will withstand great amounts of pressure without deforming or breaking.

So with that said....what would you rather have holding your trucks cab on while driving down the freeway:shrug:
