Yeah... It may eat the tire a little more once you fix it, but unless the tire is totally worn out...

The tire has a decent amount of tread left. If they hadn't gotten chopped I could have gotten one or maybe even two more season out of them. I would say only half the tread is gone. That is why I would like to keep them. As long as they don't throw the Jeep back out of alighnment I can deal with the extra vibration.

Run them on the back. That will help straighten them out. If you do run them on the front, they will not, by themselves, alter your alignment.
They could possibly cause a pull though, which would make you turn the wheel to compensate and make you think they're messing it up.

Can't run them on the rear. The tires on the rear are so out of balance that I get major death wabble at 30 MPH. These tires are very picky, I love them but very picky. I hear they are better balanced from the facotry now though, mine were out of the first production batch made once they came out with the 35s.

have you thought about adding BBs to the tires? I hear that work fairly well.....

I already have airsoft beads in them, a ton of beads in them

I don't have much luck with Airsoft either!
A set of brand new 35" MTR with kevlar mounted on Allied beadlocks. Poured in recommended 8oz of beads but no go! Run smooth up until 60MPH then starts to shake. I can run my 32s, balanced with rim weight, at highway speed and smooth all the way.

For the guys/gals running 35s and up, how do you balance your tires?
Anyone know Lou uses a Road Force balancing machine from Hunter?

The beads have helped mine a lot they just can't make up for how far out of balance my tires are.

Im running the D.C. Crusher 35" and have no weight on them at all. The most I push her on the road is about 65 ? Not sure how close the speedo is . There is absolutely no shake. The Swampers on the other hand not only made you deaf but had weight three quarters around the rims ! I miss the grip of the TSL but thats about it. FjR68

When the set it up on the machine this is what they found. They did not adjust anything, said you can't adjust camber on the Jeep also.



So now what? Only other thing I remembered was that the passenger side caliber had to be replaced over the winter, it locked up. Any chance a failing caliber could cause the chopping?

Moog makes an offset upper balljoint to ajust camber for a unit bearing Dana 30, however, -.6* is not enough out of spec (IMO) to worry about or cause the wear you experienced.

Talking with a friend yesterday he remembered he had a car once that had a chopped tire on one side, turned out it was a bad shock. We looked and there does seem to be some oil leaking and it is BDS shock so going to have Dom order me up a set. Hoping this was the culprit!!
