Gas tank questions
If you had to replace the gas tank on your rig, would you go plastic or metal?
I can also go 15 or 20 gal, I think I was the 15 because it's easier to put a skid under.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Re: Gas tank questions
I would personally go plastic and 20 gallon, thats whats in my heep and the Kilby skid protects it nicely. Unless you are thinking fuel cell instead

Meg : I think Id stick with steel if it was new or in good condition. Im nervous about the static slosh of a plastic tank. I know every mall crawler has them and do they crush as well as a steel tank. You know I mean take a hit. I got a 15gal. out of a Cj. The skid can go with it. Im not going to have it under there anymore. Interested ? FjR68

Re: Gas tank questions
I like plastic tanks. No rust to deal with and if you run a stock skid and take a hit, when you drop the skid/tank to bang it out, the tank goes back to normal. On my YJ, I can't run a cell, as I drive around with the wife and kids in tow. Unless you're going to run really nasty trails, I'd rather have the seat space and leave the tank under with a good skid.

OEM plastic 20gal. Both Gen-Right and Kilby make skids for them.
As I said on FB, I have one for you, no skid though.

Yea, sorry I'm a Jeep ******. Mental note for all, if its a build type question it's probably the CJ, if it's a looking pretty or fun extras it's either the TJ or the CJ, but if its an emergency it's the TJ, that's my only driving Jeep.

Re: Gas tank questions
The CJ does not drive yet, I got it fairly cheap and have put a ton of work into it. It will be nice when I can actually drive it. I think you have more than one driving vehicle.Frank wrote:Must be nice ! To be confused about which vehicle I want to take today. No wonder shes so spoiled. FjR68
