Motor mount lift. Seems like a simple thing but I made that same mistake with calculus

Quick and dirty is, I'm doing a tummy tuck on my Heep, picking up a Jeep Medic skid. I have the BL in and from what I read a MML is somewhere between highly recommended and required. So I'm lookin for opinions from my peeps that have been down this road

Should I do the spacer thing (for $50 - $55) or go with a redesigned MM with a 1" lift built in ($80 - $90)? Anything I should avoid, or something you recommend?

Just get the MORE MML, well spent money IMO. It is about 1 1/2hr job.

Yes, it is needed.

Just pop for the new mounts with the lift built in!!!!!! Chances are your motor bushings are in as good a shape as your frame was :P And you'll probably end up having to pull the mounts to get the spacers in anyhow.
You can't bolt on experience!!!!!!

I did the MORE MML with the 1" of lift and the rubber isolators. It was pretty straight forward - put a big piece of wood under the oil pain and jacked it up and unbolted the stock mounts. Some of the instructions I read on the internet said that I'd have to move some things for clearance during install (the starter I think?) but I didn't have to.

In retrospect, I should have unbolted the exhaust flange where the front pipe meets the end of the header/exhaust because I mushed the metal gasket that was there when I moved the engine up and down. I've since replaced the gasket. Also, make sure the radiator fan cover has enough clearance when you're done - it should if you match the MML with a body lift.

When I did mine the biggest stumbling block was that my 4.0L has AC. The cross bolt on the right side will not come out easily because of the compressor. It added another hour to the MML spacers I used.
Speed costs money, how slow do you want to go?

huh.......good to know. If I didn't have plans for OBA, I'd ditch my compressor

Was there a work around, or you have unbolt and move the compressor?

I know what Modeler is talking about, I don't recall removing the compressor. This is something that air tools come in handy.

When I did mine I just unbolted the mount from the engine block so I could get the cross bolt in/out.

Carol & I both have Rusty's 1" Motor Mount Lift with 1" Body Lift. SYE'S are our next add-ons along with Detroit Rear Lockers.

I have the MORE motor mounts and a belly up skid as well. Works great and never had an issue with the set up.

Ordered the MORE mounts, and picked up my Jeep Medic skid today. That thing is a BEAST and oh yeah saw TJ and his rig, one word about his rig..... WOW!

Advanced Adapters sells a bracket that eleminates the bracket mounted to the tub. It is worth every $$ IMO. I think I paid ~$70
