Thanks, Don for calling me to make arrangements and also for the directions. Don got me thinking about asking for BSJ to be excused from the NEA meeting plus I was able to find a way to get the needed items to someone going to the meeting, so I will be able to go to the funeral on Sat. morning. Don also mentioned how bad the traffic will be out of Boston on a Fri. night and I don't do congested traffic well at night, so Sat will be a better option plus I'll get more rest after the surgery. So I will see you all on Saturday moring at Eaton's.

If anyone is doing a Saturday morning meeting spot along the Mass Pike eastbound, I'd like to meet up with you.

I know Im pretty bad with names and such so I thought Id dig out a picture. Ron sat next to my wife and kids at the fall meeting in October and my wife was really sad to hear of his passing. he helped entertain my kids and what not and was such a super nice guy. If not for Ron hosting the 101 I might not be in the club today. My first wheeling experience with BSJ was the 101 he hosted 2 years back when my JK had about 2k miles on the clock.. Like many of you i was instantly hooked. Who's to say what I'd have thought if my first club run was MM and I head my heep dragging over god knows what thur the woods on street tires. Im forever indebted to Ron for helping me find you all.

I stopped in to see his neighbors today in Hampstead. They were shocked to hear the news. Just figured they might want to know. They may be coming either tonight or tomorrow...short notice I know.

Please let us know the details on a possible meet up from western mass...I know people were talking about donations to help cover the funeral cost...would be glad to help....please pm me with any info asap...RIP Ron...Prayers to your friends and family!

Pat and I attended the wake tonight. Ron looked very peaceful and had a hint of a smile. He was dressed in southwestern attire, complete with bolo tie, which was a perfect fit for his style. We talked with Seth, Brian Wentworth (aka Towstrap to the senior members) and Chris (not the nice one).
We shared memories of our trail rides and all the good times that went along with it. It was very settling talking about those times and I feel a sense of pride having had the privilege of Ron's friendship.

I envy you all, as I am unable to attend tomorrow's service. I know though, in my heart, that Ron was apart of our "family" and will always be with us out on the trail. Godspeed my friend.

As much as I would have liked to have joined you all, I will not being going back into Boston for the funeral, the doctor recommended not driving that distance by myself. Being able to go in with Joe was a blessing.

On a different note - I strongly recommend that no donation to made to "the estate". From a few statements made at the wake, there are some situations that I am concerned about and we might be better off waiting a few weeks or so to see how the dust settles.

Hi Kelley we can still collect donations and do have discretion as to where it will go...I think its still a good idea to collect and I dont want to speculate about why its questionable to give it to the estate at this time.

yes, collecting donations is great, I just don't feel comfortable going into concerns in an open access area. I prefer using the members only area for this discussion.

I second that. Wait till the dust settles in a few weeks, everyone is coming together right now and figuring it out, but it takes time.
